To get started on the interview process, you do not need to be related to the family members that need assistance.
How Long Will This Take? The in-person process requires one step: contacting an organization for an interview; however, the interview may take several hours. After you submit an application, the process may take up to 30-45 days to confirm your eligibility for the programs for which you applied.

Walk through the interview process one-on-one at a community-based service organization or a health insurance center (Medicaid, Alliance, or hospital).
Request a different language, if needed for understanding complicated forms.
Bring any proof documents to speed up the interview process.
Caseworker explains and fills out interview forms, provides guidance on proof materials needed, and determines the available programs.
Caseworker will proceed to Part 2.
Part 2 Complete Application
Caseworker determines the best programs for applicants: community-based, national, federal, or local.
Caseworker fills in specific program forms based on the interview information.
Caseworker provides instructions for and explains proof documents needed to proceed to submit applications.
Gather any missing documents needed from home or other sources.
Part 3 Submit Application
Caseworker reviews all instructions for the specific programs, helps you gather all proof documents, and assembles a packet.
Submit by Mail: Use the specific addresses for each program mentioned in the instructions.
Or Submit in Person: Submit documents face-to-face with a caseworker at the community-based service center the same day, or return if more information is needed.
Part 4 Receive Enrollment Decision and Documents
Receive eligibility and enrollment instructions by mail.
Application and eligibility may take 30-45 days to process.
